What Did Your Mother Teach You About Love?

What’s your mother’s legacy when it comes to your love life? I’m surprised this question has never come up in this blog.  I’m surprised it’s never come up in my mind…until yesterday.

My mother never taught me anything about love, overtly.  I can’t imagine her dreaming of doing such a thing. She was a double Aquarius and hey! People are individuals.  But she did set my bar, pretty much down the line, though I’m sure this wasn’t her intention.

She did this by being very clear with her tastes. Things were in or they were out.  If my mother wasn’t moved in a way that was marked, my mother wasn’t moved.  The lesson there: say no to milquetoast.

She definitely went for the rule-breaker, but I don’t think she had any earthly idea how dark my father was, when she met and married him and had her first baby at sixteen years old.  My father was twenty-one and had the sex appeal on the level of, Elvis Presley.  She never had a chance.

She preferred dark-haired men and I’m the same.  We’re both turned on by people with unique linguistics.  You need your own creative way of expressing yourself.

Last, my mother rejected, clinginess and I line up on that level as well.  I was surprised to discover this, but I feel okay about it.  I mean, I look this criteria, objectively and thinks, hell yeah!
